Local Events
The community will host events such as neighborhood cookouts, movie nights, game nights, and more.
Physical Outlet
A place where teenagers can come and enjoy the park amenities and have an age-appropriate outdoor physical outlet and safe gathering spot.
Family Playtime
Families and younger children can play together in the open fields, on the play soft playground, on the creek shore, and more.
A safe, inclusive space for all who visit
Shoal Creek Park 1 will be the heartbeat of our immediate community and the DeKalb County community at large. Where DeKalb County children will come to play little league baseball for fun and to learn skills that could potentially open doors for higher education or major league contenders like past little league participants. Neighborhood residents will become fans of our little league and come out to cheer for players as they display the hard work they have put into practice. SCP1 will be a place where teenagers can come and enjoy the park amenities and have an age-appropriate outdoor physical outlet and safe gathering spot. Where families and younger children can play together. Where the community will host events such as neighborhood cookouts, movie nights, game nights, and more. Friends of Shoal Creek Park will accomplish this by collaborating with stakeholders to elevate Shoal Creek Park 1 to a green space that is a safe inclusive space for all who visit the park.

Earth Day 2022
For Earth Day on May 24, 2022, Park Pride and Friends of Shoal Creek Park 1 joined together in a celebratory park cleanup. In partnership with the Belvedere Civic Club, The Belvedere Park Neighborhood Association, and several local collages, volunteers gathered at Shoal Creek Park 1 and engaged in a wide reaching creek cleanup and park ground maintenance project.
